I’ve been interested in Formula 1 for over 45 years. And, more specifically, with Formula 1 model cars. So it is time to share my knowledge and the diversity of my passion. This passion for collecting began in the 1970s. Back then, model cars were still toys, and you could purchase Dinky Toys models from the 1950s for very little money at almost every flea markets. The term ‘collector’s model’ was not yet created. The idea of producing handmade models at industrial prices only became reality in the late 1980s. Both areas of collecting – whether toys or scale models – have their own charm. I have devoted myself intensively to both over the last few decades. This website aims to describe them in detail.
As Formula 1 not only started in Great Britain but many of the earliest models also came from there, I have decided to run this site in two languages: English and German. Please forgive any mistakes here and there, as English is not my first language. I am always open to suggestions for improvement. The aim is to compile an encyclopaedia of Formula 1 model cars. That takes time. And your help. That’s why I look forward to your input. Especially in the section MANUFACTURERS. This is sorted by country or continent and is constantly being expanded. The aim is to document all manufacturers of Formula 1 modelcars in words and pictures. From A for Anguplas to Z for Zylmex.
The second submenu is called NEW ITEMS. There you will find some of the latest Formula 1 modelcars; mainly Minichamps and Spark. The third submenu is called BLOGS. There you will read about different Formula 1 topics. Of course always in connection with Formula 1 modelcars.

Seit mehr als 45 Jahren beschäftige ich mich mit der Formel 1. Und im Speziellen mit F1-Modellautos. Da ist es an der Zeit, mein Wissen und die Vielfalt auf diesem Gebiet zu teilen. Angefangen hat meine Sammelleidenschaft in den 70er-Jahren. Als Modellautos noch Spielzeug war und man für wenig Geld Dinky-Toys-Modelle aus den Fünfzigern auf Flohmärkten erstehen konnte. Der Begriff «Sammlermodell» war noch nicht geboren. Die Umsetzung, handgefertigte Modelle zum Industriepreis herzustellen, gelang erst Ende der Achtzigerjahre. Beide Sammelgebiete, ob nun Spielzeug oder massstabgetreue Modelle, haben ihren Reiz. Beiden habe ich mich die letzten Jahrzehnte intensiv gewidmet. Auf dieser Seite sollen sie ausführlich beschrieben werden.
Weil nicht nur der Ursprung der Formel 1 in Großbritannien liegt, sondern auch viele der ersten Modelle von dort kamen, habe ich mich entschlossen, diese Webpage zweisprachig anzubieten. Dass ich nicht englischer Muttersprache bin, mag man mir an der einen oder anderen Stelle verzeihen. Für Verbesserungsvorschläge bin ich immer offen. Ziel ist es, ein Lexikon für Formel-1-Modellautos aufzubauen. Das braucht Zeit. Und Ihre Mithilfe. Deshalb freue ich mich auf Ihren Input. Vor allem im Kapitel MANUFACTURER. Das ist nach Ländern respektive Kontinenten sortiert und wird laufend erweitert. Ziel ist es, alle Hersteller von F1-Miniaturen in Wort und Bild zu erfassen. Von A wie Anguplas bis Z wie Zylmex.
Im zweiten Untermenü bei den NEW ITEMS werden Neuheiten vorgestellt; grösstenteils von Minichamps und Spark. Das dritte Untermenü nennt sich BLOGS. Hier werden in unregelmässigen Abständen F1-Themen aufgearbeitet. Natürlich immer im Zusammenhang mit F1-Modellautos.
